Creation of multichannel gas electron multipliers with wire and metal electrodes.
Multipliers with wire and metal electrodes developed by INR RAS are highly reliable; spark and streamer breakdowns do not lead to their damage. In addition, charges do not accumulate between their electrodes (in the gas phase), which makes them highly stable. Multipliers with metal electrodes can be manufactured in any configuration (flat, cylindrical, spherical), they are not afraid of mechanical vibrations, and are temperature resistant. These characteristics of GEM are especially important for the creation of medical devices. For example, a positron tomograph with high spatial resolution (~1 mm) can be created based on a GEM with a cylindrical electrode configuration. INR RAS is ready to manufacture GEM of any configuration required by the customer.
For the first time, a safe, cheap method of breathing treatment with krypton-oxygen mixtures in a closed circuit at a Kr concentration of 5-40% was developed and implemented at the RAS hospital in Troitsk, Moscow region. The treatment of patients with acute cerebrovascular accident, encephalopathy of post-hypoxic origin and age-related atrophy of the cerebral cortex has been shown to be highly effective. The technique was presented at the III Eurasian Congress on Medical Physics and Engineering "Medical Physics-2010" in Moscow.
