A multifunctional device for treating patients with respiratory failure, improving the immune system of patients and for conducting xenon anesthesia.
A prototype of a multifunctional breathing apparatus has been created for treating patients with respiratory failure (pneumonia, bronchial asthma, post-stroke, post-infarction conditions, anemia, tuberculosis, etc.) with helium-oxygen mixtures; for treatment with xenon-oxygen mixtures (restoration of the immune system of patients, especially in old age); for the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction, substance abuse, post-hypoxic damage to the central nervous system in psychiatry, neurology and other diseases; for administering anesthesia during surgical operations; for research and treatment of immunodeficiency and sexual disorders with argon-oxygen mixtures, as well as for studying the effects of krypton-oxygen mixtures. Installed in the device - 4 ten-liter gas cylinders: oxygen, argon, xenon, helium; - gas mixing system; - a device for measuring the content of O2, Xe, Ar, He in the respiratory mixture - electronic volume meter; - cartridge for adsorption of xenon emissions from a closed circuit; - increased sensitivity of the Xe, Ar, He gas flow meter. The device operates in a closed circuit, which makes it possible to significantly reduce the consumption of Xe, Ar, He. Results. With this device, it was proven for the first time that in order to obtain a good therapeutic effect on the patient’s body, in particular xenon, an anesthetic concentration of noble gas is not needed; inhalation of oxygen mixtures takes place with the patient’s clear consciousness, through a mask or mouthpiece along a closed circuit. A stable remission was achieved in a patient with age-related atrophy of the cerebral cortex and parkinsonism. Treatment of a patient with posthypoxic encephalopathy was carried out with good results. The patients' blood lipidemia profile normalized, high blood pressure normalized, microcirculation and tissue oxygenation improved, and regenerative processes accelerated 3 times. The results obtained using a multifunctional anesthesia console at the RAS Hospital in Troitsk were introduced into the IPLISOR high-tech clinic. Advantages of this device over domestic and foreign analogues • This device is distinguished by its versatility (the ability to carry out therapeutic inhalations with three to four inert gases and short-term anesthesia with xenon). • Compactness, mobility, safety, autonomy (the ability to perform therapeutic inhalations not in the anesthesiology unit, but right at the patient’s bedside in the general ward). • The preserved safety system, characteristic of all anesthesia machines, eliminates the possibility of overdose and suffocation of the patient: when the oxygen supply is turned off, the supply of inert gas stops. • The ability to simultaneously use the healing properties of several gases in combination. The shelf available on the device allows you to use a bedside patient monitor for therapeutic inhalations. • There are no similar foreign samples and treatment methods. Conclusions The device can be used in the treatment of a wide range of therapeutic patients for basic and auxiliary therapy. If there is proper funding, the device is ready for mass production.
